FinalyzeTerms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Finalyze web application and related services (the "Service"), provided by Finalyze ("Finalyze," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Finalyze is a personal financial analysis tool that lets you import your own bank and card statements (PDF, OFX/QFX, and CSV), automatically categorize transactions, and explore your spending through dashboards, charts, and an optional on-device AI assistant. Your financial data is parsed and stored locally in your browser; only your account information is stored on our servers, as described in our Privacy Policy.
We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of majority/minimum age required in your jurisdiction) and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Accounts
- A free account is required to import and analyze your own statements. You may also explore a sample-data tour without an account.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account credentials confidential.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.
- You may sign in with email and password or, where available, with Google.
4. Plans, billing, and subscriptions
4.1 Free and Pro plans
The Service offers a Free plan and a paid "Pro" plan. Current features and prices are described on our pricing page and may change. The Free plan provides limited functionality (for example, a limited history window); Pro unlocks additional features as described at the time of purchase.
4.2 Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed through our payment processor, Stripe, on a monthly or annual basis depending on the plan you choose. By subscribing, you authorize us (through Stripe) to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.
Annual free trial: Annual Pro includes a 3-day free trial where offered on our pricing page. A valid payment method is required at signup. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, you will be charged $70 for the first annual period and your subscription will renew as described below. Monthly Pro is billed immediately with no trial unless we state otherwise.
4.3 Renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain Pro access until then.
4.4 Price changes
We may change subscription prices. We will give reasonable advance notice of any price change, and it will take effect on your next billing cycle after the notice.
4.5 Refunds
Except where required by applicable law, payments are non-refundable and there are no refunds or credits for partial periods. Any statutory refund or cancellation rights you have are not affected.
4.6 Taxes
Prices may be exclusive of applicable taxes. You are responsible for any taxes associated with your subscription, other than taxes based on our income.
5. Referral program
Pro subscribers may participate in our referral program (for example, "give a month, get a month"). Referral credits have no cash value, are non-transferable, and may not be combined with other offers except as we allow. We may modify, suspend, or end the referral program, or disqualify participants for abuse or fraud, at any time. Referral codes are associated with your account, not your transaction data.
6. License and acceptable use
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial financial analysis.
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except to the extent permitted by law;
- Copy, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service;
- Circumvent plan limitations, usage limits, or security measures;
- Use the Service to violate any law or infringe anyone's rights;
- Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or our infrastructure;
- Use automated means to access the Service in a way that harms or unduly burdens it.
7. Your data and your responsibility to back up
You retain all rights to the financial data you import. Because Finalyze stores that data locally on your device rather than on our servers:
- We do not have a copy of your imported financial data and cannot retrieve, restore, or recover it for you.
- Clearing your browser data, switching browsers or devices, using a different site origin, or your browser evicting stored data may result in permanent loss of your locally stored data.
- You are solely responsible for maintaining your own backups (for example, by using the app's JSON export feature).
We are not liable for any loss of locally stored data.
8. Not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice
The Service is an informational and analytical tool only. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice.
Categorizations, insights, trends, subscription detection, AI responses, and other outputs are generated automatically and may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for your circumstances. The on-device AI assistant is scoped to analysis of your past spending and does not assess affordability, income, balances, forecasting, or investment decisions. You should not rely on the Service as the basis for any financial decision, and you should consult a qualified professional before making financial decisions. Any actions you take based on the Service are at your own risk.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, graphics, and logos (but excluding your data), is owned by Finalyze or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights in our trademarks or branding. We welcome feedback, and you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to use any feedback you provide to improve the Service.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including a payment processor (Stripe), an authentication and database provider, optional Google sign-in, and providers that host the app and the downloadable AI models. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services, and statement formats, bank exports, and detection accuracy may change without notice.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT ANY PARSING, CATEGORIZATION, OR AI OUTPUT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FINALYZE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Finalyze and its owners and operators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if necessary to protect the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (including Sections 7–13 and 15–17) will survive.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the revised Terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree that any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in the Province of Ontario, Canada, and you consent to their jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts. Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your place of residence.
17. General
- Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.
- No waiver: Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
